““Set your mind on things above, not earthly things.” Colossians 3:2
Every year in Urban Saint Louis K-Life we want to challenge our students and staff to own their faith. Last year the challenge was to think “Whatever,” We taught the students to think on whatever is true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, of good repute, excellent and worthy of praise. This year the challenge is to look up; to take your walk to the next level while focusing on the One who gave you new life. This year’s theme is Elevate from Colossians 3:2. Paul encourages us to “set your mind on things above, not on earthly things.” With the temptations of this world it is easy to lose sight of the goal and become callous to those things that keep us grounded in mediocrity and compromise. “Take action!” is what Paul is saying to the Colossian church and that is precisely what we want to shout at camp this summer. Elevate! Take your walk to the next level and be active in seeking heavenly things.
As you join us for an exciting year of pouring into the lives of kids; encouraging them to elevate their Christian walk, it is imperative that you too are heavenly minded. Don’t be satisfied with just being an okay Christian, or even a good Christian. But one whose true desire is to one day hear those great words of our savior “well done thy good and faithful servant!” We look forward to laboring with you, our beloved staff, as we push to go beyond the norm this school year; as we push to Elevate!
